About Me

I’m a Product Designer using my background in design thinking, experience design and outdoor education to create products with accessibility and inclusion at the forefront.

When I’m not working, you can find me managing and playing in a kickball league, singing with the Portland Gay Men’s Chorus, or hosting dinner parties with my partner.

My Professional Background

I began my career as a teaching assistant in a children’s hospital classroom, where I learned to adapt to each student's unique medical needs and embrace feedback. This experience taught me flexibility and empathy.

Next, I moved to San Francisco to create a summer camp from scratch for Healthy Planet, a nonprofit focused on sustainable entrepreneurship. I handled everything from design and marketing to staffing and branding, which gave me invaluable project management skills and a deep appreciation for collaboration.

I then returned to Portland to work in Tech through customer experience, where I learned to identify patterns and advocate for long-term solutions.

Later, as a Team Lead in a financial tech company, I focused on employee motivation, problem-solving, and process improvements, while managing a customer experience team.

From there I decided to transition into user experience (UX) to leverage my understanding of customer needs and behaviors in a more design-focused capacity. My background in allowed me to develop a strong empathy for users, which I found directly translates into creating more intuitive and user-friendly digital products. In my previous roles, I was deeply involved in problem-solving and improving touchpoints in the customer journey, which sparked my interest in the UX field.

These diverse roles—spanning education, nonprofits, and tech—have shaped my ability to identify opportunities and take decisive action. I’m now able to combine my passion for enhancing user satisfaction with a more hands-on approach to product design, ensuring seamless and meaningful interactions at every stage of the user’s digital experience.
